SMS Opt-In

How clients consent to project text messages

Trussty powers text messaging between construction contractors and their clients. Clients opt in to receive messages in one of three ways:

1. Online booking (web opt-in)

A client submits their own phone number on their contractor's public booking page — for example trussty.app/book/<contractor>. The consent disclosure is shown on that page, and the contact form requires an explicit consent checkbox that is unchecked by default. The booking cannot be submitted unless the client actively checks it, and the server rejects any submission without it. This is the exact checkbox label:

By providing your phone number, you agree to receive text messages about your project from [contractor] via Trussty. Message frequency varies. Message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and Terms.

Consent is not a condition of purchase. Opt-in is used solely to send that client messages about their own project.

2. Client-initiated text

The client texts their contractor's Trussty number first. Replying to a client-initiated conversation is the scope of the consent; every reply is reviewed and approved by the contractor before it is sent.

3. Project intake

When a contractor adds a client to a project, the contractor must confirm a consent checkbox stating the client agreed to receive project-related texts. The confirmation timestamp is stored with the client record as the consent paper trail.

Opting out

Reply STOP to any message to opt out immediately — one final confirmation is sent and nothing further. Reply START to opt back in, or HELP for help. Opt-out status is enforced automatically at both the carrier level and inside Trussty. Mobile information is never shared with third parties for marketing purposes — see our Privacy Policy and Terms.
